worldwide carproblem?

Hi,
some days ago i asked a question that i had in my mind regarding the fastening direction of bollts of a cartire ring but i havent got the proper answer yet.though i had asked some mechanic engineers,they were not able to give me the right answer either.NOW AGAIN,you know that the tires of driver side of cars are turning counterclockwise and the tires of the opposite side are turning clockwise. the bolts of driverside are fastend clockwie this u know makes the bolts more fastenend in any car movement forward BUT it cant be the same on the other side as u know the direction of tire & boltfastening are the same,clockwise,naturally the movement of cartire would make the bolt get open.
PLS try to give me scientific reasons .

Your question is actually a good one. Lug nuts are in a dynamic environment. They are subject to the spinning forces of the wheels, vibration, temperature variation, etc. All these forces actually do tend to loosen fasteners of all kinds. The lug nuts on the right side wheels, due to the clockwise rotation, are subject to greater forces than the other side. As Seth said, the torque applied to the lug nuts, when properly torqued, will overcome the forces trying to loosen the lug nuts. Actually, the old Chrysler Corporation for about a decade in the the late ’50s and early to mid ’60s reversed the threads on right side for this reason. Evidently, practical experience demonstrated this proved unnecessary.
